In addition to other opportunities for you to drop off stuff, we will have a donation box at the Beefsteak Dinner in the back of the gym. I'll send reminders about this as we get closer to that event (on Feb 9th!!!) This is a great cause, and it is an easy way for you to have some good come from some early spring cleaning! The 8th Graders are privileged to have two Midnight Runs scheduled later this year. While the runs are designed to be eighth grade events and are still a few months away, we need the help of the entire Resurrection community to make it a success. Here?s how you can help: 1. Donate Used Men?s Clothing-Please donate jeans, slacks, sweatpants, sweatshirts (hooded sweatshirts are prized), t-shirts, belts and shoes. We will not need women?s clothing or men?s dress clothing. 2. Donate Used Men?s Shoes ? Lightly worn sneakers, soft-soled shoes and work boots are preferred. 3. Donate NEW socks and underwear ? They need us to volunteer between 12 - 4 on Saturday to go to the school to put together the chairs, tables, couches, etc.... (and they'll need help Sunday the same time if we don't finish Saturday - as if!). When I asked Julie how many of us she needs, he answer was "as many as we can!". Bring your power tools (with Allen wrench attachments) and/or your muscles. Many hands makes light work. This is a great initiative. As Julie said tonight, "Happy Teachers make for Happy Children!". Hopefully many of you can come for even a hour or two on Saturday. If you can make it, even for an hour, please let me know, and I'll put together a "volunteer sheet". For an update on the Beefsteak... We have sold 87 of 150 tickets in less than a week. We are well ahead of last year's sales. Don't forget to get your tables ($660 for 8) or tickets ($80 each)... A formal "follow-up" on the Beefsteak is coming. Also, we'll need some volunteers to help that night and for clean-up the next morning... Watch for that e-mail soon.
