Resurrection Fathers -
We did a great job with the Carnival - we cleared $16,232 after
expenses. Huge thanks for the very many of you who donated time
planning the event, worked the event (including the many kids who
worked the event, and donated things to the event. Special thanks to
Mark Damiano who gave us an amazing discount on the rides, to Billy
Powell for donating the food and grills, to the 3 families who
contributed the drinks, and to the many families who gave raffle prizes.
I am calling a meeting for the RFC next Monday night to elect a new
co-chair to allow Ed to retire. This co-head will serve a two year
term. My first year of co-head just is about finished. If you are
interested in doing this, here is the skinny:
- we run about 4 meetings a year
- we run 2 events a year - the Carnival and the Beefsteak. And, we
ask for and get lots of help for both
- we get a seat on the Foundation Board to help decide how the funds
we raise are allocated
Bottom line, this is some work, but not a daunting amount. After 8
years, Ed needs to be allowed to retire. By establishing the co-
heads with two year terms starting Nov 1st (read: after the
Carnival), the co-heads know they have a defined term. We need you
to volunteer for this role. Drop me a line if you want to discuss
the role...
So here is the Agenda for next Monday night's meeting - at 7:30 in
the grammar school cafeteria
- review and discuss people interested in being co-head to allow Ed
to retire
- vote on people interested, and make decision
- discuss what is going on re: the new scoreboard and new backboards
- discuss initial planning for the Beefsteak dinner. (Remember - the
date for this is Feb 1st - just over 3 months from now).
Thanks,
Tom
