RFC - Follow-up to Back to School nights - Meeting Oct 1st 7pm....

Okay Gents -

If you were at the back to school nights you heard Ed and/or me give  
you an update on the RFC.  Here are the main points we made:
(1) We are going to have a Carnival Planning Meeting on Oct 1st in  
the Grammar School Cafeteria at 7pm
(2) The Carnival is coming up soon - Saturday - Oct 13th.  We need  
two things from you NOW
        - a commitment to work the event.  For those of us with older  
children, sign up to work with them.  You both will love the  
experience.  We have 1/3 of the needed volunteers.
        - donations of items to include in the raffle
(3) For the Carnival, we will start selling Raffle tickets when we  
have stuff to announce as prizes...  What do you say - we'll starting  
selling tickets next week?
(4) We still need 2 people to help Mrs. Logigian in getting new  
scoreboards and new backboards (for the side walls - not to replace  
the current ones) for the gym.  The CYO is funding $4000 toward this  
expense, and our past donations are funding the balance.  The two of  
you who will help in this can personally direct how our funds are  
spent - and then can claim rights to take the first shots at the new  
backboards!

To make this really easy for you, you can copy the following for your  
replies to this note - you can use more than one of these!:
(A) Count me in for working the carnival
(B) Count me and my child {replace with name} in for working the  
carnival
(C) I would love to donate the following to the carnival raffle -
        - gift certificate for dinner at {fill in restaurant name,  
e.g., Morgan's, Ruby's, Wellington's}
        - gift certificate for stuff at {fill in store name, e.g.,  
Modell's, Grapes, Ralph's}
        - a case of wine I happen to have handy to donate
        - tickets to the great event {e.g., Giants playoff tickets,  
Mets World Series Tickets - I do dream big!}

I have saved up the answers from my previous e-mails, and I'll start  
sending around preliminary scheduling after the Oct 1st meeting.

Oh, by the way, if you don't volunteer, we'll have to get subversive  
and send a plea to your wives to get you to sign-up!
