Everyone appeared to have a great time. That was goal number 1. I think we have established a new annual tradition at our school. Financially we exceeded our goal. Our gross was a touch over $25,000 and our net will be over $17,000 (I'm still calculating expenses). When we conceived of the event, we wondered if our net would be above $5,000! Wow. Thanks to everyone who worked on the organizing committee, and to Hank and Johnny for running the auction last night. Our next events will be the Father Daughter dance and the Beefsteak Dinner both in March. I must say, my four men thoroughly enjoyed themselves! The little guy had so much fun that when I asked him what he ate he said a brownie?I said what about dinner, he said he didn?t know there was dinner! Hilarious! >> >> Beth Woodtli suggested I reach out to you for some help organizing dads. We have two tasks related to the Christmas Fair that are more suited to dads than moms and we were hoping you guys could solicit some assistance for us. The event takes place on Dec 3rd (from 10 to 5:30) and 4th (from 9 to 3). During that time we need dads to stand outside and sell wreaths, garland and some miniature evergreen shrubs (the kind you put in the pots in front of your house). We have asked to get some 8th grade boys to help with this table, carrying things to people?s cars, etc.. but they will need to be supervised and someone needs to keep control of the cash box. >> >> The second thing is Santa?I know you all love to put the costume on, but this seems to be a tough spot to fill for as many hours as we would like to have Santa there. We have one or two guys lined up but we need more, especially for Saturday afternoon which is prime kid-time. (It helps if they come with their own suit but I think we have one they can use if need be.) This year we are taking pictures and letting the children make a Christmas tree ornament with their picture on it ? so?no Santa ? no craft ornament. >> >> Please let us know if you can help organize this for us and rally the fathers.
